Welcome to my website! I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. I teach courses in comparative politics, focusing on development, democratization, and African politics. My research explores the intersections of political economy, ethnicity and social capital, and in particular, the dynamics of inter-ethnic cooperation in local public goods provision across African communities.
I received my Ph.D. in political science from the University of Georgia's School of Public and International Affairs in May 2013. Prior to coming to Ursinus, I was an Instructor at the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of International Studies, where I taught both undergraduate and graduate courses on development, democratization, and comparative social policy.
I have previously been affiliated with the Democracy in Africa Research Unit in the Center for Social Science Research at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School.
